B-rolls and VNRs
B-roll is 10 – 15 minutes of roughly edited supporting footage that is given to broadcasters free of charge. Our B-rolls are filmed by professional television news crews and experienced producers – they look exactly like something the TV stations might have shot themselves and are therefore much more likely to make it on air.
We can also distribute the B-rolls for you – to national, regional and overseas broadcasters.
Follow our guidelines and your B-roll will always get used. B-rolls produced by Shout! have been used on all the UK’s national stations, including BBC1, ITN and Channel 4.
A VNR (or Video News Release) is much more polished than a B-roll – it’s a finished product and more like a television news report or a corporate video. A VNR is highly unlikely to get an airing in the UK but in Eastern Europe and the States they are used much more readily.
