Our Founders
Keren Haynes
Keren Haynes

Keren’s last broadcast as a BBC journalist was a report for the 0800 news bulletin on Radio 4’s Today programme.   That concluded a career as a broadcast journalist that started in regional radio but took her via regional TV, and a stint in the Middle East and Hong Kong, to London.

During her time at the Beeb as a Senior Broadcast Journalist, based in the Business Unit, you could also have heard her on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drivetime and Radio 2’s main business slot, in addition to BBC1 summaries, News Channel and BBC World Service TV.

Prior to the BBC Keren worked as a News Editor at ITN and before that she was their Business Producer.  At Sky News Keren was a general reporter and she read the news on ITV Central in Birmingham.

Catherine Bayfield
Catherine Bayfield

Whilst Keren ended up at the BBC, Catherine is a commercial broadcaster through and through.   As a Senior Producer at ITV, Catherine’s responsibilities included deciding which stories would make air on programmes like LK Today and GMB’s predecessor GMTV.  Past experience would have held her in good stead for this:  as Head of Planning at ITV’s London Tonight and as a producer and guest booker at Sky News, which included numerous stints producing The Richard Littlejohn show on Sky One.

Catherine began her career in regional radio, and then moved on to regional TV as a reporter, producer and newsreader.   Catherine co-manages Shout! Communications alongside Keren.

Our Story

Shout! Communications was set up in 2003 by national broadcast journalists Catherine Bayfield and Keren Haynes. That heritage sets the bar for the agency.   We understand the industry inside out; we know who’s who in broadcast newsrooms across the UK and we have the knowledge to get you on-air where you want to be.

The agency began life in a back bedroom in Ealing. We weren’t there long though, before moving to first Covent Garden and then, in 2017 to Bloomsbury, just round the corner from ITN.

We’re based in a beautiful Grade II listed building, but in the rear of the building have built a spacious, naturally lit radio studio, from which we link up for live and pre-recorded interviews with BBC and commercial stations.   It’s a fantastic space for TV and radio media training too.
